Research Area: s-SNOM, Near-field Optics
Team Profiles
Prof. Jun Lu
Prof. Jun Lu joined the Departments of Chemistry and Physics at NUS in February 2025 as a Presidential Young Professor. His research focuses on chiral nano–topological engineering, thermal photonics, ultrafast light–heat interactions, and structured light. Group website: www.junlulab.com
We are seeking a highly motivated Visiting Scholar to join our research group working on near-field nano-optics, with a particular focus on scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscopy (s-SNOM) and related techniques.

We welcome applications from candidates with a background in physics, optics, materials science, electrical engineering,computer science,math or related STEM fields.
Required / Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with s-SNOM, near-field optical microscopy, or scanning probe techniques is highly desirable
Solid background in optics, nano-optics, or condensed matter physics
Experience with infrared / THz spectroscopy, AFM-based systems, or ultrafast optics is a plus
Strong motivation for experimental research and independent problem-solving
Responsibilities
Conduct independent and collaborative research projects and drive high-quality publications;
Participate in experiment design, nanodevice fabrication, and photothermal/spectroscopic/thermal-transport characterization;
Mentor students and support projects and collaborations;
Actively engage in grant applications and academic exchange.
Application
